More About Our Speakers:

Scott Denning
Professor, Dept. of Atmospherics at Colorado State University

Scott received his B.A. in Geological Sciences from the University of Maine in 1984, and his M.S. and Ph.D degrees in Atmospheric Science from Colorado State University in 1993 and 1994. He studied radiometric geochronology, surface water geochemistry, and mountain hydrology become becoming interested in global climate and biogeochemical dynamics. After a two-year postdoctoral appointment modeling global sources and sinks of atmospheric CO2, he spent two years as an Assistant Professor in the Donald Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at the University of Colorado at Santa Barbara. He joined the Atmospheric Science faculty at Colorado State University in 1998 and has served as Director of Education for CMMAP since 2006. He does a lot of outreach about climate change, and takes special delight in engaging hostile audiences.

Curtis Probst
Managing Director, Rocky Mountain Institute

Curtis leads RMI’s sustainable finance practice and assists RMI’s major practice areas including buildings, communities, electricity, industry, and transportation, in financial aspects of their research and collaboration activities. He brings 24 years of financial market expertise to a broad range of energy and sustainability issues.

Prior to joining RMI, Curtis worked at Goldman Sachs for over 15 years, most recently as managing director in its investment banking division. He sits on the Management Advisory Board of the Earth Institute at Columbia University and is a member of the United States Regional Advisory Council of the University of Calgary.

Douglas Smooke
Managing Principal & Chief Investment Officer, Renaissance Wealth Mgmt

Doug oversees investment strategies and portfolio design for families, professionals, endowments and small business retirement plans. He founded Renaissance Wealth Management in 2003 with a commitment to deliver conscientious and thoughtful investment management for his clients. RMW specializes in tax-efficient, low-fee investments with a disciplined approach where clients’ best interests are paramount.

Moderator: Bryan Birsic

Bryan oversees Wunder Capital and its solar investment funds for individuals and institutions. In addition to serving as the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Wunder Company, Bryan is also one of its co-founders and member of the Board of Directors. Previously Bryan held investment management positions at New York-based venture capital firm, Village Ventures and Bain Capital.
